Buffs will be coming in Valorant patch 2.06 and beyond, Riot has confirmed after a long string of promises. If it weren’t for the Valorant Stage Masters 1, the changes would have happened sooner. They’ll have to wait until 2.06 to start shipping the changes they want because the big international tournament will be held on Valorant patch 2.04. “For full transparency, 2.05 will likely be a lighter patch as well as we keep an eye on Astra’s launch and ensure it’s healthy. Past that point though, we have a gap in tournaments and some time where we may be able to ship some of those changes in that 2.06-2.09 window. We really want to ship these changes as soon as possible too. We just only have so many sets of hands and a lot to juggle — there are more changes we’d like to make than we can realistically ship, so we’ve got to prioritize for the sake of balance.” developer Coleman ‘Altombre’ Palm said on Reddit.
Yoru and Viper mains can expect some good news in the first half of that window if Astra lands in a good spot. If Astra requires assistance, which is possible, it will be in the second half. Riot hasn’t revealed too many details about the changes, though they’re hoping to keep the two Agents’ identities the same.
About New Agent: Astra
Agent Astra will be the 15th agent in the game and she falls under the category of Controller just like Omen, Brimstone, and Viper. According to the Official Astra’s Trailer (teaser from Valorant Official YouTube Channel), the description says, “Astra harnesses the energies of the cosmos to reshape battlefields to her whim. With full command of her astral form and a talent for deep strategic foresight, she’s always eons ahead of her enemy’s next move”.
